Dear Subscriber,
Online Volunteer Registration Now Available.
Thanks to those of you who volunteered for the 2008 Concours. We are back this year bigger and better than ever. You may have heard by now that this year's Concours will have two days of on-field events for the enjoyment of our guests.
Saturday will be a Car & Motorcycle Club Celebration with several area clubs attending. They will have their own club meetings, be able to attend seminars and demonstrations throughout the day. Clubs currently include:
- Aston Martin Owners' Club, Eastern Region
- CT Valley Porsche Club
- Cadillac and LaSalle Club, Lower Hudson Valley Region
- Ferrari Club of America, New England Region
- Maserati Club, Eastern Chapter
- Mercedes-Benz Club, Sea Level/LI and NYC section and CT/Westchester section
Saturday's Nutmeg Tour for Autism will feature stops at the Redding Historical Society for a brief review of the AACA's 58th Annual Fall Classic Car Show. It will then travel on to the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield for lunch and a preview of some of our featured artist Timothy White's work on display. We then return to the Hunt Club for the evening's d'Elegance Reception and Preview benefiting The Next Steps Developmental Center - a partnership between AIND/Giant Steps and Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services.
Sunday will be our traditional Concours. This year's featured judging classes are Porsche, Alfa Romeo (celebrating its 100th anniversary) and Packard. Special exhibits include:
- seven Packard concept vehicles - never shown on the same field at the same time before;
- winners from the Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance;
- vehicles from the Bridgehamption Race Circuit.
We will have an exciting show field again this year with many examples of the finest cars and motorcycles from the past 100 years.
Please forward this to anyone that you may know who may want to volunteer. |
