Dear Subscriber,

The Concours is getting closer.  This issue announces the Nutmeg Tour for Autism and details about our Tour stops; welcomes Tito's Handmade Vodka as our Official Distilled Spirit Sponsor; and highlights some special cars from you, our entrants.

We hope that many of you will want to purchase tickets for the d'Elegance Reception and Preview Saturday evening.  It is our fundraiser for The Next Steps Developmental Center - a partnership between AIND/Giant Steps School and Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services (a wholly owned subsidiary of St. Vincent's Health Services).  The Center provides diagnostic and treatment services for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Nutmeg Tour for Autism
This year's Tour will wend its way from the St. Vincent's Medical Center campus (Hall-Brooke, 47 Long Lots Rd.) in Westport through the back roads of Southern Fairfield County and back to the Fairfield County Hunt Club (174 Long Lots Rd.).  Thanks to Rich Taylor of Vintage Rallies, Inc. for providing us with another interesting and challenging route.  We have planned several special stops for Tour participants.  On Sept. 12, we meet for a light breakfast and coffee at the Medical Center Campus, 47 Long Lots Rd., Westport, at 8:30am.  The Tour departs from there at approximately 9:30am.  Our first stop is Redding at the Redding Historical Society (Rt. 107) for the AACA and HCCA 58th annual fall antique car show (see below).  After a brief review of the cars, we depart and travel to our noon-time stop at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, where our featured artist Timothy White's photography will be on exhibit.  Lunch for Tour participants will be catered by Chez Lenard of Ridgefield.  The Museum will provide guided tours for us.  Our final stop on the return to the Hunt Club will be at Bruce Bennett Nissan to preview some of the newest Nissan sports models like the 370Z, 350Z and the 2010 GTR.   We then return to the Hunt Club at approximately 4pm. The d'Elegance Reception and Preview begins at 5pm - please consider purchasing tickets to help support our charities.

The Aldrich is one of the few non-collecting contemporary art museums in the United States. Founded on Ridgefield's historic Main Street in 1964, the Museum enjoys the curatorial independence of an alternative space while maintaining the registrarial and art-handling standards of a national institution. Exhibitions feature work by emerging and mid-career artists, and education programs help adults and children to connect to today's world through contemporary art. The Museum is located at 258 Main Street, Ridgefield, Connecticut. All exhibitions and programs are handicapped accessible. Free on-site parking. Regular Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 12 noon to 5 pm. For more information call 203.438.4519.
Welcome Back Tito's
Last year, Tito's Handmade Vodka provided an outstanding addition to our d'Elegance Reception and Celebrity Dinner with a delightful Martini Tasting Bar supported by Stirrings Mixers.  This year, Tito's is back as our Official Distilled Spirit Sponsor.  They will once again support our d'Elegance Reception, and this time will also include a signature Tito's Fairfield County Concours Cocktail developed by their official mixologist.  In addition, Tito's will provide refreshments at several pre-Concours receptions at other sponsor locations.  Details to be announced in next newsletter.

Tito's Handmade Vodka is produced in Austin at Texas's first and oldest legal distillery.  It's made in small batches in an old-fashioned pot still by the eponymous Tito Beveridge, a 47-year-old Geologist, and distilled six times.

Tito's Handmade Vodka is designed to be savored by spirit connoisseurs.  It is micro-distilled in an old-fashioned pot still, just like fine single malt scotches and high-end French cognacs.  This time-honored method of distillation requires more skill and effort than modern column stills, but it's well worth it.
Cars of the Concours
Once again, you have provided us with an outstanding field of vehicles for our guests to enjoy.  It is impossible to adequately recognize all of your efforts in this short space, but we do wish to highlight some of the cars you will see in September.

One of the most intriguing vehicles is the 1927/1919  Rolls-Royce Hispano Aero, powered by a WWI Hispano-Suiza aircraft engine.

Another stunning vehicle is the 1909 ALCO-6 Racer (the Black Beast) that won the 1909 & 1910 Vanderbilt Cup races and raced in the first Indy 500 (1911).

And, from a more current vintage, the Custom Clay modeled, Corvette ZX-1 design special edition, made in the USA.  First of its kind.  New modern LED taillight & front marker light design.   Limited production #1 of 300.

Plus many other examples of the finest in vintage, classic and modern motor vehicles.
We look forward to seeing all of you at the 2009 Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance September 12 (Club Day & Tour)-13 (Concours Day) at the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport, CT.  Please forward this newsletter to anyone who you think might be interested.  We sincerely appreciate all of your support.
